Dear Friends of the Spring Lake Community House and Theatre,
During these difficult times, the health and safety of our students, staff, and patrons is our biggest priority as we follow the continuing situation with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in our country and all around the globe. We continue to follow the health and safety guidelines laid out by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as the World Health Organization (WHO). We had previously stated that we hope to open Monty Python’s Spamalot on Friday, April 17th. In light of developments in the last week, including many schools extending their closures until the end of April, we realize we will have to wait longer to open Spamalot. It remains our goal to present this show to our patrons. Our cast and creative team worked tirelessly to create a high-quality production, and we look forward to the time when we can finally share it with all of you. Due to the circumstances, we are all dealing with, we are unable to announce our 2020-2021 season until we understand exactly how long the current crisis lasts. We do have some very exciting plans, so please stay tuned! Our administrative staff and dedicated instructors continue to work remotely to ensure that we are doing everything we can to sustain our various educational programs. Our workshop and dance classes have made the leap to virtual learning, using Google Classroom to continue instruction remotely. Our teachers post videos and lessons for the students so that they can practice from home and be prepared for their productions. We are using our social media presence to perpetuate positivity and excitement for the future of our theatre. We have shared galleries of previous productions and various interactive posts with our students and patrons. We will continue to engage our followers with behind the scenes pictures and videos of productions, as well as video and written testimonials about what makes our theatre so special. We also intend to add new and engaging content to our website. Closing our doors, for the time being, has been a difficult but necessary decision to make. We miss seeing our students, teachers, performers, and patrons every day, but we hope that this decision will help safeguard our community. Every small business is experiencing the economic impact of this unprecedented event. We hope that with your support, we can ensure the longevity of this historic building and continue to provide a loving home for the performing arts.
