The Borough of Spring Lake is a picturesque community nestled along the Atlantic Ocean, commonly known as the "Jewel of Jersey Shore." It is a well-developed residential community that maintains bathing beaches, two with pool facilities, seven tennis courts, a sparkling lake in the center of town, well stocked with trout, and a quaint shopping district comprised of a variety of lovely shops and eateries.
The Borough is primarily residential in nature, with a proud history which is showcased in the Spring Lake Historical Society’s Museum at 423 Warren Avenue.
Spring Lake is a premier summer resort community with two miles of sparkling beaches, palatial summer homes, hotels, quaint cottages and guest houses, and well appointed year round homes.
In the summer months, there is so much to do. Along with swimming, fishing and boating, there are many beautiful bicycle paths to explore, concerts in the park to enjoy, a five-mile run (Memorial Day weekend), youth activity programs and much, much more. Notices of all these events are noted in the Borough calendar mailed to each home, posted on this web site, in the windows of the borough's shops along Third Avenue, and on the community bulletin board located at the corners of Third and Morris Avenues.
Spring Lake's hotels, inns and bed and breakfast establishments provide year-round accommodations to the thousands of tourists who visit the Borough. The boardwalk in Spring Lake has been identified as the longest, uninterrupted non-commercial boardwalk in the State of New Jersey and is used year-round by locals and visitors alike. Walkers and joggers can be seen at almost any hour utilizing the boardwalk.
The Borough’s boardwalk and beachfront have consistently won “Best Beach” and “Best Boardwalk” awards based upon an Asbury Park Press poll of Monmouth County-area citizens.
